National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP)

What is the National Lung Cancer Screening Program?
Starting from the 1st July 2025, eligible Australians will be able to access a bulk billed lung Cancer screening scan through the National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP). Lumus Imaging is proud to support this important government initiative by providing low-dose CT (LDCT) scans at selected locations across our network.
The NLCSP is a government-funded program aimed at detecting lung cancer in its early stages, before any symptoms develop. All low-dose CT (LDCT) scans performed under the program will be bulk billed for eligible patients, meaning there will be no out-of-pocket expenses for eligible patients.
How does the National Lung Cancer Screening Program work?
- Visit your GP to assess your eligibility for the National Government Lung Cancer Screening program. Eligible participants will receive a referral for a low-dose CT.
- Take your low-dose CT referral to Lumus Imaging for a walk-in low-dose CT appointment.
- Your GP will follow up with your results.
